Mumbai–Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor I Indian Railways ready for phase-wise launch of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project

Maharashtra government assured the Centre that 80% of land acquisition work will be completed in the next four months itself.

Ahmedabad: The Indian Railways will begin operations in a phased manner on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor owing to delayed land acquisition in Maharashtra, said Railway Board Chairman YK Yadav. 
The work on the corridor ran into hurdles in Maharashtra owing to protests from farmer groups and the state government. However, no such delays were reported from neighbouring Gujarat. Yadav on Saturday said the Ministry of Railways is prepared to operationalise the corridor till Vapi in Gujarat if there is further delay.
