Diphu, Sep. 9 (EMN): A seminar on the dissemination of government schemes was organised by National Handloom Development Corporation Limited (NHDCL) at the office of Handloom & Textiles department, Rongnihang, on Friday. Executive Member (EM), Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), in charge Handloom & Textiles, Fisheries and Adult Education, Madhuram Lekthe, said the NHDCL organised the awareness programme to help local weavers and also with a view to upgrade the weaving/handloom sector in Karbi Anglong. “The Handloom department under KAAC is trying to develop the handloom sector by supporting local weavers by providing financial assistance and material to them.
