Two-day training on fire fighting, fire safety underway across state

Dimapur, June 20 (EMN): A two-day basic fire fighting training and fire safety audit inspection for different stakeholders was organised by the Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services on Monday. The objective of the training was to spread mass awareness on fire safety, code of practice, dos and don’ts, etc. Kohima: The training was held at State Academy Hall in Kohima. Speaking at the training programme, Inspector NFES, Sedevizo Hibo highlighted that to ensure the prevention of recurrence of fire incidents in institutional buildings like hospitals and nursing homes in the state, the Nagaland Fire and Emergency Services has been appointed as the nodal department to conduct inspections and fire safety audit of hospitals and nursing homes (both Government and Private sectors) as per the National Building Code. Hibo said that there have been five incidents in hospitals and nursing homes in the recent past in the country resulting in the unfortunate loss of lives and properties. He said

About Us: First official tour kicks off in Wokha

Our Correspondent Wokha, 3 June (EMN): The first official tour of ‘About Us,’ organised by Acoustic Club Wokha, was held at Tiyi Hall in Wokha on June 3. Formed in the year 2019, About ‘Us’ is an Indian ‘Experimental Melodic Hard Rock’ from Nagaland.   Hachio Patton, Senior PS to Deputy Chief Minister was the chief patron and Additional Commissioner Lankonsen T. Tsanglao was the chief host. The band was also felicitated prior to the concert at Town hall in Wokha. During the concert, After 20’s, an all girls rock band from Wokha also performed their debut concert and Giedion Kithan, a sensational seven-year-old guitarist performed as supporting act during the concert. Seminar on schemes under Ministry of Textiles held in Wokha
