(Shutterstock) DEDHAM, MA Dedham firefighters are part of the latest class of graduates from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy s fifty-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program. Dedham was one of 10 fire departments with graduates in the program. This class had 20 graduates. First responders are on the front lines protecting their communities and these newest firefighters are needed now more than ever. We have taken advantage of technology, reduced class size for social distancing, implemented daily screening, and required mask-wearing to keep our instructors and students as safe as possible during these uncertain times, said Deputy State Fire Marshal Maribel Fournier.

Cambridge firefighter graduates from MA Firefighting Academy Recruit Training Program Wicked Local The Cambridge Fire Department shared the following information Jan. 8. Cambridge Fire Chief Gerry Mahoney and City Manager Louis DePasquale announced the graduation of Firefighter on Probation Patrick J. Morrissey from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy Recruit Training Program in Stow, Massachusetts. FFOP Patrick Morrissey is nationally certified as Firefighter I/II and HazMat Operational Level First Responder. He will be assigned to Ladder Company No. 3 in Lafayette Square to fill a current vacancy in the “Class 1” Cambridge Fire Department. “This rigorous 10-week professional training program at the MA Department of Fire Services Stow campus provides our newest firefighters with the basic skills to perform their jobs effectively and safely” said State Fire Marshal Peter Ostroskey.

Walpole Firefighter Graduates MA Firefighter Academy

Reply (Renee Schiavone/Patch) WALPOLE, MA A Walpole firefighter graduated from the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy s fifty-day Career Recruit Firefighting Training Program at the Springfield campus. Walpole was one of nine departments represented in this semester s graduating class. This semester s class had 17 people in it. The program teaches recruits public fire education, hazardous material incident mitigation, flammable liquids, stress management, confined space rescue techniques, and rappelling. The intensive, ten-week program for municipal firefighters involves classroom instruction, physical fitness training, firefighter skills training, and live firefighting practice. State Firefighting Academy Graduates Berkshire County Firefighters

  State Fire Marshal Peter J. Ostroskey and Massachusetts Firefighting Academy (MFA) Director David C. Evans announced the graduation of 27 members of the Call/Volunteer Recruit Firefighter Training Class #88.    Among these graduates are Tanelle Ciempa of the Adams Fire Department, Trevor DeRis of the Great Barrington Fire department, Charllee Sanchez-Rios of the North Adams Fire Department and William Graves, William Kipp, and Jamieson Williams all of the Hancock Fire Department.   First responders are on the frontlines protecting their communities and these newest firefighters are needed now more than ever. We have taken greater advantage of online learning technology, reduced group training size to increase social distancing, implemented screening, and required mask-wearing to keep our instructors and students as safe as possible during these uncertain times, MFA Director Evans said.
