Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas and Administrative Judge Anthony Cannataro have been nominated by Gov. Andrew Cuomo to the state s highest court, his office on Tuesday announced.
Singas would replace retiring Judge Leslie Stein; Cannataro would fill the seat of the late Judge Paul Feinman, who died in March. Their nominations now go to the state Senate, led by Democrats, for consideration.
Cuomo s nominations were announced with multiple nominations to the state s court system, filling vacancies at the Court of Claims as well as making appointments to the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, in the First and Second Departments of New York state.

A Glen Cove-based private investigator is accused of allegedly threatening Martin Tankleff, his former client, officials said.
Jay Salpeter allegedly sent Tankleff “dozens of emails and voicemails” that threatened his former client, attempting to “obtain money for services Salpeter believed he was owed,” according to a news release from the office of Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas on Monday.
Now Salpeter, a former NYPD detective, is faced with charges of second-degree grand larceny by extortion, two counts of attempted fourth-degree grand larceny, and two counts of second-degree aggravated harassment.
