Liberty University’s men’s and women’s squads swept the team titles at the 2022 ASUN Indoor Track & Field Championships, which concluded Saturday at the Brant Tolsma Indoor Track at the Liberty Indoor Track Complex, but the results came in.
During the time period typically associated with spring break, the Liberty men s and women s track & field teams will head to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational. Named for the former Coastal Carolina women s track & field/cross country coach, the meet will take place Friday and Saturday at Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.
A total of 82 Liberty athletes are entered in the meet, which is scheduled to begin Friday at 10 a.m. with the men s hammer and women s javelin. Saturday s events will also get started at 10 a.m., with the men s discus first to begin.

Four Liberty Flames earned ASUN Conference indoor track & field weekly honors on Wednesday. These include two repeat winners from last week (Chelsea Igberaese – Women s Field and Anthony Bryan – Men s Freshman) and two women s distance runners who made successful track season debuts at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational (Anna Hostetler – Women s Track and Adelyn Ackley – Women s Freshman).
A redshirt junior from Dacula, Ga., Igberaese claimed her second ASUN Women s Field Athlete of the Week honor this season and the third of her career. Igberaese won the women s weight throw at the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational with a personal-best and meet-record mark of 65-6.75. She won the event by more than five feet and moved up to No. 34 on this year s NCAA Division I national list.
The Liberty men s and women s indoor track & field teams will compete in their lone road meet of the 2021 regular season, the Bob Pollock Invitational, Friday and Saturday at the Clemson Indoor Track & Field Complex in Clemson, S.C. The Flames and Lady Flames will square off against a number of ACC and SEC opponents, along with ASUN rival Kennesaw State.
Liberty s first event of the weekend will be the men s 60 hurdles prelims, set for Friday at 2:20 p.m. Saturday s events will get started with the women s shot put at 10:30 a.m.
