Even though its been downgrade to do Tropical Storm, the heavy rains are expected to fall for several days now as people try to keep damage minimum. We have Team Coverage this morning. When we talk about when were saying a downgrade to Tropical Storm, it doesnt mean this storm is going to have less of an impact it means the winds died down bringing it to Tropical Storm category. Those winds at 45 miles an hour. But what that really does mean, though, is that the flooding is still going to be a threat
This, that could change their position. Thank you. Happening now, a brush fire is burning dangerously close to a park in martinez. Chopper 5 over the scene a few minutes ago. Helicopters are dropping water over big plumes of smoke. Its burning right next to rankin park. So far it has burned five acres. No word on any evacuations. A piece of heavy equipment was destroyed by a brush fire in contra costa county. Take a look at this video from chopper 5. A burning tractor was at the top of a charred hillside in blackhawk near wild oak port. We are checking to see whether it was a tractor working on the dry hillside that sparked the fire. It looks like the fire spread from where the tractor actually was. The fire has blackened five acres. In san jose, another brush fire kept firefighters busy most of the day. It broke out behind Happy Hollow Park this morning. This fire quickly spread into heavy brush and then burned into a pile of railroad ties. When they caught fire, the thick, black smok
Intersections are so high and people are distracted with so many things weve got to Pay Attention to a higher level of safety in the city and thats why i endorse this effort. I am proud of all of the departments to begin doing this in a very deliberate way and we launch this program with a strong aggressive Education Program that should last a long time. Truckers and others change all the time, schedules change all the time but the safety has to be at the highest level and as youre trurning corners as youre going down the corridors and out of construction sites or into them or at the store picking up or delivering each of these situations has the ability to hurt someone, and we want to everyone to be that much more aware.
