Dimapur, Aug. 5 (EMN): Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA) has announced that it will conduct the 3rd quarterly National Lok Adalat (people’s courts) in all the district headquarters on August 13. An update from NSLSA stated that a total of 12 Lok Adalat benches at Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, and all district court premises would be set up by the High Court Legal Services Authority (HCLSC) and District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). It explained that Lok Adalat is one of the alternative dispute redressal mechanisms and a forum, where cases pending in the court of law or at pre-litigation stage are settled or compromised speedily and amicably. It stated that National Lok Adalat is held on a quarterly basis and has benefited the citizens with the privilege of settling disputes at free of cost all across the state. Dimapur, May 29 (EMN): Judge of Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench, and executive chairman of Nagaland State Legal Services Authority (NSLSA), Justice Songkhupchung Serto, called upon parents to ensure their children avail free and compulsory education. Addressing the public of Noklak district at White Hall in Noklak village after laying the foundation stone for a district court complex on May 28, Justice Serto reminded that food, clothing and shelter were considered basic necessities of humans in the past. However, on realising that a person cannot live without the right to dignity over the years, he stated that the ‘A’ was added to Article 21 for introduction of Right to Education Act to provide free and compulsory education to children, an update from NSLSA stated. Mentioning that the government has provided every person with different rights and entitlement, Serto asked villagers to know their rights and pluck the fruit of the schemes.
