Nataka Karnataka Rangayana has made a big name in Indian theatre repertory. It has 31 years of experience and has done a lot of experiments. Now it is experimenting on staging the theatrical form of noted Kannada Novelist Dr. S.L. Bhyrappa’s greatest work ‘Parva’ written in 1979. Preparations are on to make this a milestone in the history of Indian theatre. Despite his busy schedule, Rangayana Director Addanda C. Cariappa spoke to Star of Mysore on how he got the idea of bringing ‘Parva’, one of Dr. Bhyrappa’s widely debated and popular work, into theatrical form and how to take it Pan India. Excerpts. Ed

Today, Karnataka chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa announced that his government will be setting up goshala in each district in the state âto prevent slaughter of cows and to conserve livestock .
The Karnataka Budget for 2021-22 is being presented in the State legislature today. This is the BJP governmentâs second full-fledged Budget in this term.
Yediyurappa, who also holds the finance portfolio, announced the construction of a âYathri Nivasaâ in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for devotees from Karnataka visiting the temple town, allocating Rs 10 crore in 2021-22 Budget. He said that the UP government will provide 5-acre land for the purpose.

MYSURU: In his 8th budget presented on Monday, Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa announced a bonanza for his home district Shivamogga.
Two major infrastructure projects of the region i.e. Shivamogga and Hassan airports, got a budget boost. In his budget speech, CM announced Rs.384 crore for Shivamogga airport project and Rs 175 crore for Hassan airport project, which is pending for more than ten years. These two projects are expected to give a fillip to the tourism and economic activities in the region. However, there is no word about the expansion of the Mysuru airport.

MCC urged to name stretch between Kalamandira Circle on Hunsur Road and Kukkarahalli Lake Circle near Railway Gate as ‘Padmashri B.V. Karanth Road’
Rangayana, the State’s premier theatre repertory, on Thursday urged the Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) to name the road stretch between Kalamandira Circle on Hunsur Road and Kukkarahalli Lake Circle near the Railway Gate after renowned theatre personality late B.V. Karanth.
In a letter to Mayor Tasneem, Rangayana said it had requested the MCC to do so on many occasions earlier also. Now, a campaign is being launched by theatre personalities and others in support of its demand.
