Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa presented the state budget today at noon even as the opposition staged a walk out saying the government had âno moral rightsâ to continue to be in power over recent happenings in the state.
Yediyurappa highlighted various provisions dedicated to women as he presented the budget on the occasion of International Womenâs day. That apart, Yediyurappaâs budget has tactfully tried to keep the two largest communities - Lingayats and Vokkaligas - pleased with an equal grant of Rs 500 crore each.

Bengaluru, Mar 08: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa presented the state budget for the fiscal year 2021-22, one of his toughest, in the post-pandemic era. This was Yediyurappa s eighth budget and third during his present term as chief minister since July 2019.
Leader of Opposition Siddaramaih along with Congress MLA s boycotted the budget after a few minutes of protest.
The Chief Minister, who holds the finance portfolio, spared citizens by not announcing any new taxation in the budget.
In the budget 2021-22 Budget, no taxes including Karnataka State Tax on Petrol and Diesel has been increased, in a bid to relieve burden on the people who are already facing hardship due to increase in fuel prices.

Today, Karnataka chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa announced that his government will be setting up goshala in each district in the state âto prevent slaughter of cows and to conserve livestock .
The Karnataka Budget for 2021-22 is being presented in the State legislature today. This is the BJP governmentâs second full-fledged Budget in this term.
Yediyurappa, who also holds the finance portfolio, announced the construction of a âYathri Nivasaâ in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh for devotees from Karnataka visiting the temple town, allocating Rs 10 crore in 2021-22 Budget. He said that the UP government will provide 5-acre land for the purpose.
