RCC Mayor Mostafizar Rahman Mostafa lodged the case with Kotwali Police Station on Saturday night against Ratan Sarkar, Rangpur correspondent of Somoy Television.
Two days ago, Ratan made a Facebook post against the mayor, bringing some allegations against him.
In the post, he said the mayor could buy some dishonest journalists of Rangpur Press Club and try to kill him. Ratan vowed that he would not let anyone indulge in irregularities.

RANGPUR, March 7, 2021 (BSS) – Internationally celebrated photojournalist Pavel Rahman has preserved rare pictures of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman presenting factual national history before new generations.
The opinion came at a function jointly organised by different sociocultural organisations to accord reception to Pavel Rahman, who got Ekushey Padak 2021, at Central Shaheed Minar premises on the Public Library ground in the city on Saturday night.
Coordinator of the Reception Committee and noted cultural personality Dr. Mofizul Islam Maantu presided over the function arranged abiding by the health directives in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
