No Swimming At Ontario Beach Park Due To E coli Concerns

July 26, 2021 Before you head out to the beach to enjoy this great summer weather you need to know there will be no swimming. Due to E. coli, the beach will not be open for swimmers. Because of the rain we recently had and the sediment in the water flowing through the Genesee River there is a concern for E. coli. The Monroe County Parks Department says these conditions are a good environment for the bacteria to grow. Officials will keep track of the Genesee River flow rates and let the public know when it is safe.

Rochester Weather: How warm will get in Monroe County?

Less than a week after Rochester set a daily snowfall record (2.8 inches on April 21), the forecast is looking more spring-like. Monday will be clear, sunny and crisp throughout the greater Rochester area, with a high temperature of 50 degrees, said Liz Jurkowski, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Buffalo. By midnight, however, a line of showers will move through, lasting two to three hours, she said. It will be dry by 6 a.m. Tuesday. Clear skies are expected throughout the day, and the high should reach 65. Wednesday will be the warmest day, Jurkowski said. An unseasonable high of 77 is expected but so are showers and thunderstorms. (The record high for that date is 93, set in 1990.) There is a 20 percent chance of precipitation in the morning and a 50 percent chance in the afternoon, she said.
