The remarks are aimed squarely at the us and come ahead of President Trumps scheduled meeting with his chinese counterpart xijinping at the 620. Its a meeting that many investors are hoping could lead to a breakthrough in resolving their trade war. Thats the biggest of several battles President Trump has started to try and resolve what he sees as unfair trade practices. Its led to tariffs on 360 billion of goods. Thats 250 billion worth of stuff the us buys from china and beijings retaliation of tariffs on 110 billion worth of the stuff it buys from the us.
