DODA, Aug 4: Deputy Commissioner Doda, Vikas Sharma flagged off a cycle rally to promote fitness among youth under ‘Fit Doda Movement’ at Sports Stadium, here today.
The cycle rally was organised by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Doda, Jaffar Haider Sheikh on the instructions of Director Youth Services and Sports, Mohammad Ashraf Bhat wherein about 225 participants from various Government as well as private educational institutions of Zone Doda and Ghat participated.
The cyclists covered the distance from Sports Stadium Doda to Mini Secretariat Doda and returned back at starting point by passing through various locations of the Doda.
The DC also planted some pine trees within the premises of the Dispensary.
Later, the DC and the DDC Member inspected ongoing work of 50 bedded District Ayush Hospital (DAH), coming up at a cost of Rs.7.32 crore. The Hospital, when completed, will be the first of its kind (District Ayush Hospital) in the valley. The plinth level of the Hospital has been completed.
The DC directed the concerned engineers to speed up the execution work of the Hospital and ensure its completion within the stipulated time frame. He also stressed for using standard material in the construction.
The DC also visited Angel Stadium, Kulangam and asked concerned officers to recommend the Stadium for its further development under the Khelo India programme.
Other journalists also spoke and apprised the chair about their issues.
The DC gave a patient hearing and assured them about resolving their genuine demands. He said District Officers need to be responsive to the media persons so that the Journalists and media persons are able to cover the government version about problems faced by the public.
He also stressed upon the media persons to make their stories objective and balanced adding that the District Administration is always available to provide help to the people who are engaged directly or indirectly in promoting development and wellbeing of the society.
DDC Members Administered Oath Across JK
SRINAGAR: The elected members of maiden District Development Council (DDC) elections held in the history of Jammu and Kashmir were on Monday administered oath by respective district heads across all the districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
On the occasion, 138 DDC members representing 138 Block Constituencies of 10 districts of the division swore in the name of God and pledged to bear true faith and allegiance to the constitution of India and also uphold the Sovereignty of India.
AT SRINAGAR: The District Development Commissioner (DDC), Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, today administered oath to the recently elected members of District Development Council (DDC) of Srinagar, who registered their victory in the first DDC election held in Jammu & Kashmir.
