The project was launched in 2018 by then chief minister and the current deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. Officials expect final clearance for the project in the next two months, just ahead of the announcement for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls this year.
Enforcement Directorate (ED) has been allotted a Rs 362 crore plot in Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) for its office in Mumbai. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has decided to charge Rs 3.4 lakh per sq m of the 10,500 sq m permissible built-up area on the half-acre (2,200 sq m) plot. Having a dedicated office building in BKC may help ED maintain confidentiality of its work and safeguard its documents along with attached assets.
The current tender is valued at Rs 2064.63 crore The work involves design, manufacturing, supply, testing, commissioning and maintenance. Interested bidders are required to submit bids by April 2nd.
