Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma opposes the Centre s plan to fence the India-Myanmar border and scrap the Free Movement Regime (FMR). The border was imposed by the British and the Mizo people do not accept it. Despite lacking authority to stop the plan, the government and various organizations in Mizoram are against it. Lalduhoma discussed the matter with PM Narendra Modi and the Union Home Minister, who did not oppose his appeal. The Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) and Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) also oppose the decision.
