Luke Stolarzyk will stay in jail after being indicted for using AR-15 to fire at neighbor, nearby apartments.
A man accused of firing 29 bullets throughout a Hillsdale apartment complex during an altercation with a neighbor on June 29 has been arrested and charged with attempted murder, among 24 other charges.
Luke Stolarzyk, 32, now faces an attempted murder charge, in addition to charges for reckless endangerment, unlawful use of a weapon, criminal mischief and attempt to commit a felony, after he allegedly chased a neighbor around and fired off several rounds with an AR-15 rifle in and around the Stephens Creek Crossing apartments in Southwest Portland during the early morning hours of June 29.
“He knocked the guy out,” neighbour Misty Garrett told the
Portland Tribune.
“It took a long time for the police to show up here. During that time, another guy joined in trying to tie him up and beat him up.”
Miraculously, Stolarzyk, who managed to fire off 29 shots at cars and buildings, was the only person injured in the June 29 incident at Stephens Creek Crossing and was taken to hospital.
Apparently, the “visibly drunk” gunman had been angered by an argument with another neighbour over his barking dog around 1:15 a.m.

An unidentified Southwest Portlander is being hailed as a hero after disarming a gunman in an apartment complex in Multnomah Village early Tuesday.
Neighbors near Stephens Creek Crossing apartments on Southwest 26th Way awoke to gunfire around 1:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 29 after a man with a rifle fired nearly 30 shots around the apartment complex, following an argument with a neighbor.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, Luke Stolarzyk, 32, was transported by ambulance and cited for unlawful use of a weapon, discharging a firearm in the city, and first-degree criminal mischief after neighbors reportedly tackled and punched him as he roamed the area, firing a total of 29 bullets into homes and cars.
