The Supreme Court on Monday (April 22) allowed an urgent plea for terminating the pregnancy of a 14-year-old minor rape survivor. While exercising its powers to do complete justice under Article 142.
The Court held that medical termination of pregnancy was not an option as the foetus had already reached 34 weeks of gestation and was now fully developed.
The observation was in the context of that the man the girl was in a relationship with which led to the pregnancy, opposed the termination of the pregnancy.
