THIS IS A LIST of residential burglaries, stolen vehicles and vehicle break-ins in Maui County reported to the Maui Police Department from Jan. 31 to Feb. 6. The list includes the majority of reports during the period and gives the approximate time of occurrence of the crimes. The information is compiled by the Maui Police Department Community Relations Section which helps residents organize Neighborhood Crime Watch groups throughout Maui. The Maui News publishes the report when it receives it from the Maui Police Department Community Relations Section. For more information on starting a Neighborhood Crime Watch, call 244-6380. lfujimoto@mauinews.com WAILUKU Bail was reduced to $7,500 for a man charged with robbery for allegedly punching another man while stealing his truck in Paia.
Mark Fisher, 51, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree robbery, first-degree unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle and second-degree terroristic threatening.
During a court hearing Tuesday, Deputy Prosecutor Johann Smith asked for Fisher’s bail to remain at $20,000 for the crimes involving violence and property theft.
Fisher asked to be released on supervision, with Deputy Public Defender Ben Lowenthal saying the defendant is a caretaker of property on the way to Keanae. Fisher can’t afford to post bail, Lowenthal said.

KIHEI Like everything else, COVID-19 altered the annual Maui Toys 4 Tots Motorcycle Toy Run at the Azeka Shopping Center in Kihei this year.
Gone were the hundreds of motorcyclists traveling to Kihei and gathering at the center, along with the festivities that followed in the center’s parking lot.
But not gone was the holiday and giving spirit, as organizers Street Bikers United Hawaii – Maui Chapter pivoted and conducted a drive-thru event instead. Individual motorcycles, motorcycle clubs, classic cars and the general public pulled up in their vehicles steadily for three hours Sunday morning.
