Donât rush to give clean chit to China. Mumbai power grid failure is a strong warning
Future wars will be fought on cyber domain. Delay in response will allow Chinese cyber soldiers to infiltrate Indian systems so deeply that de-coupling would become impossible.

Union Minister Raj Kumar Singh has denied media reports that said the massive power outage in Mumbai last year was caused by a cyberattack from China, calling it a âhuman errorâ. Singhâs remark contradicts Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukhâs admission of a possible âcyber-sabotageâ, based on a preliminary report by the stateâs Cyber Cell. While both global and local press are alluding to the Mumbai power outage of 12 October 2020 to a China-based hacking system, it is intriguing that the Union minister should be in such a rush to give a clean chit to China.

Maryland-based Cyber Engineering Services detected the cyber burglary, according to cybersecurity writer Brian Krebs.
“Between Oct. 10, 2011 and Aug. 13, 2012, attackers thought to be operating out of China hacked into the corporate networks of three top Israeli defense technology companies, including Elisra Group, Israel Aerospace Industries, and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems,” Krebs writes.
