Yeah, i just wanted to ask miss saint claire from safety and everyone if you could talk about the voluntary registry that we are putting into place as well for the voluntary bike registry program. And so safe will host the program like i spoke about before, and it will be online, and so everyone will be able to distribute the materials for the program, and so it will be a form on the safe, and on the safe bikes program, and
Testing testing what is being proposed now is what they consider the first phase which would be a 640bed replacement jail. Currently just 3 and 4 have 509 beds. So, it is a reduction. The estimated cost of this is 290 million. Of that cost 30. 7 million would be to purchase the land adjacent to the hall of justice. So, this current plan is consistent with an assessment made by the controller, the county jails needs assessment. If they build a 640 height and bulk bed jail at the hall of justice, county wide there would be 220 beds, more than 2200 beds. This is expected to meet an average daily population, inmate population of 2 19 of 1900. There has to be additional beds to accommodate population days and also for what they call classification, which basically means beds need to be left vacant based on gender, type of crime and other factors. For Capital Infrastructure needs like replacing the hall of justice. If those dollars are not able to be used for that, they cant just be shifted wholesale over to programming. So, with that, i will finally, i would just like to say, i guess reiterating what supervisor kim was saying before, yes, i think everyone agrees that jails 3 and 4 are not an appropriate place, theyre not safe, theyre not serving theyre not meeting current needs. While the Community College faculty staff and administrators are being forced to ban their normal student and campus responsibilities in order to comply with unsubstantiated accjc mandates. When did a Community College become based more on the institutions governance process, which is thank you dedicated by california state laws and less on the quality of education being provided .
