SIBU (July 16): Three men were killed in an accident involving a motorcycle and a car along Jalan Embuau, Song near here yesterday.
Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sibu chief Andy Alie said the deceased were identified as Joshua Richard, 38; Jimbai Ujom, 57, and Sempun Lau, 51.

SIBU: There was a mad rush by residents of Song district to buy daily necessities before the movement control order comes into effect on Tuesday (Feb 2).
Song OCPD Deputy Supt Rowney Michael Jalak said police had set up roadblocks at Jalan Temalat and Jalan Takan.
He said about 90% of the motorists they spoke on Jalan Takan said they were rushing to town to stock up daily necessities.
A number of Covid-19 positive cases were reported from longhouses on Jalan Takan over the last few days. We found that there was a greater number of vehicles going to town today (Feb 1) than yesterday.
The Pasai Cluster, which originated from Rumah Langi in Sibu, has now reached the Song district.
In the district alone, 31 cases have been recorded as of Jan 28.
The Pasai cluster, which is the biggest cluster in the state with 1,704 cases to date, started on Jan 8 after a super spreader came back from Johor on Dec 29 to attend her father s funeral ceremony.
The Song district, which has a population of about 22,000 and located about an hour s drive from Sibu, is now at a standstill as most shops in the town centre are closed.
The Song district is under a conditional MCO until Feb 14.
