LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI) on Thursday termed the five-year Electric Vehicles (EV) Policy 2020-25 a way forward to revolutionise the automobile sector in Pakistan.
Appreciating the move, LCCI President Mian Tariq Misbah in a press release said, the EV policy alone would resolve the issue of high import bill, cost of transportation, drastically rising pollution and various others.”
“An auto revolution is knocking at the door as the government has already approved the EV policy. To achieve the desired goals, its implementation in true sense of words is a must,” Mr Misbah said.
Under the EV policy, a target has been set to have a 30 per cent and 90pc share in passenger vehicles and heavy duty trucks by 2030 and 2040, respectively.

Govt vows to give jobs to youth

LAHORE: The government is committed to providing employment opportunities to the youth and all resources are being utilised for this cause, including the National Employment Exchange, a statement said on Tuesday.
These views were expressed by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Punjab Director General Rana M Saleem Afzal, while speaking at the orientation session under Kamyab Jawan Programme, at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), it added.
Afzal said that the National Employment Exchange is a group of public, private sectors, government, and overseas institutions for the provision of job opportunities to the young generation.
