Two Hefajat leaders sent to jail

DHAKA, May 12, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today sent to jail Junayed Al Habib and Shakhawat Hossain Raji, joint secretary general and assistant secretary general respectively of the now dissolved committee of Hefajat-e-Islam, after end of their remand in separate mayhem cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Shahinur Rahman passed the orders as police produced the accused before the court one after another and pleaded to keep them behind the bars till the conclusion of probe in the cases.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder on May 4 had placed Junayed on total four-day remand in three different cases lodged over Hefajat-e-Islam’s mayhem in May, 2013, and March, 2021.
Mamunul Haque sent to jail after remand

DHAKA, May 10, 2021 (BSS) – A court here today sent former joint secretary general of Hefajat-e-Islam and general secretary of its Dhaka city unit Mamunul Haque to jail in a case filed with Paltan Police Station over the organization’s mayhem in Baitul Mukarram area in March.
Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khair Jesi passed the order as police produced Mamunul before the court after end of his two-day remand in the case (57 (3) 21) and pleaded to keep him behind the bars till the conclusion of the probe in the case.
On May 4, a court here placed Mamunul Haque on a total of five-day remand in two separate cases [60 (3) 21] and [57 (3) 21] lodged over the group’s mayhem in the capital.
Mamunul remanded afresh in Baitul Mukarram Hefajat mayhem cases

DHAKA, May 4, 2021 (BSS) – A Dhaka court today placed former joint secretary general of Hefajat-e-Islam and general secretary of its Dhaka city unit Mamunul Haque on total five-day remand in two separate cases lodged over the group’s mayhem in Baitul Mukarram area in March, 2021.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order as police produced him before the court and pleaded to place him on ten-day remand in case (60 (3) 21) lodged with Paltan Police Station. The court placed Mamunul on three-day remand in the case.
After that police sought another seven-day remand in case (57 (3) 21) filed with Paltan Police Station over the Baitul Mukarram mayhem. After hearing the plea, the court placed the accused on two-day remand.
