Northwest Guilford s Emma Moberg couldn t have asked for a much better end to the softball regular season.
The senior ace threw a perfect game, not allowing a single runner to reach base as the Vikings beat Metro 4A Conference foe High Point Central 15-0 in four innings. Moberg racked up seven strikeouts in the win.
Senior Cori McMillian, senior M Kenzie Davis and sophomore Addy Tucker all finished with multi-hit outings to lead Northwest Guilford (8-1, 8-0) at the plate. McMillian had two hits, including a triple, two runs scored and three RBI. Davis had two hits, including a double, two runs scored and three RBI. Tucker had two hits, including a triple and a double, two runs scored and an RBI.
No. 15 Northwest Guilford finished its regular season sweep of Metro 4A Conference foe Page on Tuesday night in Greensboro. The Lady Vikings were 1-0 winners behind a goal in the 42nd minute by junior forward Bella Doganavsargil.
Northwest Guilford head girls soccer coach Terry Murphy and senior defender Evyn Dean met with HighSchoolOT Triad reporter Zack Adams following the Vikings' 1-0 shutout win over Page on Tuesday night.
Grimsley opens Metro 4A play with dominant win over High Point Central

Grimsley s football team continued its dominant start to the season with a 49-6 win over Metro 4A Conference foe HIgh Point Central at A.J. Simeon Stadium on Thursday.
The Whirlies (3-0, 1-0), led up front by four-star defensive tackle Travis Shaw, held the Bison (1-2, 0-1) to just 73 yards from scrimmage for the entire game.
Offensively, Grimsley scored on every possession until the end of the game, when it ran out the clock. Junior quarterback Alonza Barnett III proved effective for the Whirlies both in the passing game (14-of-22, 63.6 completion percentage, 236 yards, three touchdowns) and the running game (seven carries for 86 yards,12.3 yards per carry).
Berry, Panther Creek eliminate Grimsley in first round

Cary, N.C. On Tuesday night, the Panther Creek Catamounts from Cary welcomed the Grimsley Whirlies from Greensboro in the first round of the 4A West boys basketball playoffs. The game managed to be relatively tight throughout, but the home Catamounts managed to come away with a 77-65 win.
The game featured two impressive 30-plus point performances. Panther Creek senior and UNC Charlotte signee Daylen Berry finished with 32 points for the Catamounts. Grimsley senior forward Daniel Cooper had a game-high 35 points in the loss.
