transportation is looking into what caused southwest airlines travel meltdown last month. this is what we begin with. memphis on edge this morning, the city is bracing for the release of police body cam video of officers beating tyre nichols after a traffic stop that turned deadly. we re waiting to see if officers involved will face charges. i have a warning for you, we re going to show you a photo of tyre nichols in his hospital bet before he died. his family has seen the body cam footage they say it s horrific. they demanding murder charges. they say officers beat tyre like a human pinata for several minutes. sara sidner joins us this morning. they re bracing for the video in memphis. the chief condemning what happened to tyre. this is an awful sorry all around. reporter: it is. because we have not seen the video and the public has not seen the video, there is great concern here about what the response is going to be. but we do know that this was a vicious attack really
routine between. consistent with what they saw on the video of his encounter with police. tyre nichols beaten for three minutes just think about that. a boxing round, three minutes. three minutes this man was allegedly beaten by five officers. five black officers were fired, even before the video of that the rest had even been publicly released. two members of the memphis fire department have also been fired in the wake of tyre nichols s death. i want to bring in steve mulroy, the district attorney dealing down there with steve, it s good to see you this evening. there are a lot of questions being asked about what happened to tyre nichols and when the public might be able to see this video for themselves. and the idea when it will be released? and one of the considerations to do so? right. thank you for having me, laura coates. a lot of the peoples questions about what exactly happened will, of course, to be answered once people see the video. we expect that to happen
