The sentencing comes as part of a plea deal the two defendants accepted. Today in superior court a judge will decide how long the two will spend in jail which will go along with the other details of the agreement. Jesse and Melissa Hughes are the owners and caretakers at the green acre dog boarding facility in gilbert. The judge is set to ce for the death of 23 dogs that were in their care. It happened in the summer of 2014. And a major issue for the animals heat exhaustions. Investigators saying the dogs didnt have enough air for more than six hours. The owners of the animals were consulted in the negotiation of this plea deal.
