The first 200 shoppers received a ‘Goodness it’s Free’ reusable goodie bag filled with special products and samples and a vendor village allowed customers to taste new products while they shopped.
The city staff report noted that the current policy identifies a process for naming public parks and recreation facilities but recent projects have made it clear that the city needs to broaden its policy to include the naming of other facilities.
The Oct. 4 through Oct. 7 visit is part of the two cities’ attempt to strengthen their relationship and to celebrate the rich heritage and culture that exists between them.
Sandy passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Aug. 17. He was diagnosed with liver cancer last year and underwent a liver transplant in June. He was making impressive strides during his recovery and had been anticipating his return to work on Sept. 1.
