In an attempt to show its appreciation to the county’s farmworkers migrant or not the city of Woodland partnered with Brown Issues to hold the 2nd Annual Yolo Growers and Farmworkers Festival Friday evening in downtown Woodland.
The four-day trip for a delegation from Woodland's Sister City La Piedad, Michoacán kicked off Wednesday morning with an official welcome reception and a visit to the Woodland Police Department.
The 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. event aims to celebrate the county’s thousands of farmworkers who made putting food on the table possible throughout the turmoil of the COVID-19 pandemic and the supply chain and inflation issues that followed.
Winters’ 2023 Festival de la Comunidad “Community Festival” will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Saturday at the Winters Community Center located at 201 Railroad Ave.
