Battle of Franklin Trust proposes new Rippavilla contract

The Battle of Franklin Trust is a 501(c)(3) organization that manages two historic Civil War Battle of Franklin sites, Carter House and Carnton, in Franklin. Interim city administrator Pam Caskie said BOFT was the only applicant to submit a contract proposal, and that a new management contract would likely go up for a vote in May. If approved, the contract would go into effect May 24. The city owns the historic property. For me, it s important that we get the contract right, that we recognize all the things that need to be in this contract when you have a contract operator from another jurisdiction, Caskie said. It is our intent for the Battle of Franklin Trust to begin their management contract on May 24, which is the day after the last wedding that we have to oversee. This letter of intent sets forward what would happen with the contract.

Spring Hill aldermen eyes agreement before Rippavilla contract ends

The Daily Herald When city leaders voted to terminate its management and operating contract with Rippavilla historic site, one concern for many was whether previously scheduled events would still happen. The worry includes one of Rippavilla s most-popular types of events often held every year during the spring and summer months  weddings. The city s contract with Rippavilla is set to expire in April, and during that time its board is seeking another entity to take the reigns in overseeing its annual operating and maintenance costs. If no one is found, Rippavilla would be forced to close until further notice. The concerns about whether scheduled events and booked weddings would still happen were brought before the Board of Mayor and Aldermen this week.

BOMA to consider another Northfield sale extension

The Daily Herald The pending sale of the Northfield Workforce Development Center remains uncertain, and the city must now consider a possible extension of the previously proposed contract. The 350,000-square-foot facility, in which the city took ownership for $8.18 million in 2017, was initially purchased with the intent to relocate to the site, the Spring Hill Public Library, Spring Hill police headquarters and other various city departments. In March of last year, BOMA voted 5-4 to sell the property for $9.2 million to potential buyer Worldwide Stages (WWS) to revamp the facility into a state-of-the-art rehearsal facility for touring bands and entertainment acts.
