Job losses, career stagnation, the trials of working from home: whichever side-effect of the pandemic we’re looking at, young people have disproportionately borne the economic brunt.
Youth unemployment has hit a five-year high according to figures released this week by the Office for National Statistics, with under-35s accounting for 80 per cent of the 811,000 job losses in the year to March. More than 200,000 under-25s have been out of work for more than six months.
