(CNS) - A woman who was alongside a fugitive during a SWAT standoff at San Diego High School was behind bars Thursday on suspicion of vehicle theft and being an accessory to a crime after the fact, police said. Janeth Iriarte, 33, was with 36-year-old Christopher Templo Marquez during an 11-hour standoff at the Park Boulevard campus that ended Tuesday morning when two SWAT officers fatally shot Marquez, fearing he was about to kill Iriarte, according to National City police. Iriarte was uninjured during the encounter.

Police release names of victim, suspect in deadly Lincoln Park shooting

SAN DIEGO San Diego police on Thursday released the names of a 44-year-old man fatally shot in Lincoln Park last week and the 34-year-old man subsequently found and arrested on suspicion of murder. The victim was identified as San Diego resident Bobby Brown. The suspected shooter was identified as Davione Antoine Whitaker, homicide Lt. Matt Dobbs said. About 7 p.m. April 2, someone flagged down San Diego police officers near the 47th Street trolley station, between Market Street and Imperial Avenue, after Brown had been shot near an apartment complex immediately south of the station. Officers and paramedics tried to save Brown, but he died at the scene.
