SAN DIEGO
San Diego police on Thursday released the names of a 44-year-old man fatally shot in Lincoln Park last week and the 34-year-old man subsequently found and arrested on suspicion of murder.
The victim was identified as San Diego resident Bobby Brown. The suspected shooter was identified as Davione Antoine Whitaker, homicide Lt. Matt Dobbs said.
About 7 p.m. April 2, someone flagged down San Diego police officers near the 47th Street trolley station, between Market Street and Imperial Avenue, after Brown had been shot near an apartment complex immediately south of the station.
Officers and paramedics tried to save Brown, but he died at the scene.
