Short Term Rental 616.01 Purpose. The purposed of this ordinance is to establish a licensing procedure to regulate short term rental of residential property in the City of Detroit Lakes in order to protect the health, safety, and welfare both of guests using short term rentals and of citizens impacted by short term rentals. On Sunday, July 17, the final day of the 86th Northwest Water Carnival, big crowds showed up for the annual Parade of the Northwest and a grand finale show by Bald Eagle Water Ski Shows out of Centerville, Minn. The water carnival's co-admirals said attendance was very high for most events during its 10-day run, which began July 8.
After only takeout and delivery options were available for last year's Community Thanksgiving Feast at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Detroit Lakes, this Thursday's version will include a dine-in option as well.
