Mayor Matt Brenk swore-in two new members of the Detroit Lakes Fire Department during a regular city council meeting at the Historic Holmes Theatre on Tuesday, April 13, 2021. Members also heard concerns from a resident over a proposed affordable housing development, south of Big Floyd Lake, near County Road 131 and Highway 59. Also, Amy Stearns, executive director of the Historic Holmes Theatre, proposed a new city arts committee at Monday s Community Development Committee.

The owners are hoping to have the bike business running for the Fourth of July in Detroit Lakes. Riders have to pedal to power the bike, but they also get to drink alcohol aboard.
