Bringing a mix of youth and experience, the Jefferson City Jays and Lady Jays are ready for whatever the Class 4 track and field state championships bring when it starts today at Adkins Stadium. The Jays and Lady Jays were able to qualify in 12 events, eight on the girls side and four on the boys side, to the championships and feel battle tested after tough competition in the district and sectional round.
The Jefferson City track and field teams return 11 state qualifiers from last year’s boys and girls team and are looking to take another leap this year. The Jays and Lady Jays will take that first step at 4 p.m. today when they open the season in a triangular with Helias and Rolla at Adkins Stadium.
