Bram was the only candidate to take a majority in a ward 52 percent in his own Ward. 3. Levin prevailed in five wards, while Mulliner won by a hair in his Ward 7. ELMHURST, IL Amid a controversy, Elmhurst mayoral candidate Mark Mulliner late last week returned a $5,000 contribution given by a group of residents opposed to a restaurant s parking lot plan.
Elmhurst Neighbors United, which opposes the plan by Roberto s Ristorante and Pizzeria, gave the money March 4 and publicly endorsed Mulliner nearly a week later on Facebook.
When Elmhurst Patch contacted Mulliner s campaign Thursday, a spokesman called the endorsement and donation a pleasant surprise. At some point in the next day, the campaign returned it.

ELMHURST, IL Elmhurst mayoral candidate Mark Mulliner on Sunday criticized adding advanced life support services to the fire department, saying it would be costly.
Mulliner made his comments during a virtual candidates forum sponsored by the League of Women Voters. While it may not have been obvious, Mulliner appeared to be attacking a key plank in the platform of one of his two opponents, Michael Bram. The other candidate is Scott Levin. All three are aldermen.
