I almost am afraid to speak of such things. I just feel like I am going to jinx this, We have had the same complaint around Amarillo for quite some time and it seems that for at least the time being things are calming down.
The gates are closed. Our childhood is gone. The Tascosa Drive-In, the last drive-in theater standing in Amarillo is closed. They had their last showing over the weekend. That part of our life is over. Or is it?
In the spirit of rushing every single holiday. That is what we do. We never slow down. I don't really know if we even know how to do that. Since Halloween is almost here and gone and Thanksgiving will be here before you know it; we need to make a plan.
There are just some things that we don't handle well in Amarillo. We love our Whataburger. We miss our Taco Villa when we move away or even leave for a weekend trip.
One thing we for sure knew last week was that Texas was going to have a team in the World Series. The biggest games in baseball and Texas was going to have a horse in the race.
