EDITORIAL: Our 2021 Swampscott election endorsements

EDITORIAL: Our 2021 Swampscott election endorsements Wicked Local Writing endorsement editorials can be a stressful, taxing task, but those feelings are indicative of just how serious we carry out the annual exercise.  The process inevitably culminates with candidates and their supporters being either happy or unhappy with the newspaper.  In the election cycle, we have witnessed some candidates and their supporters partake in name calling, mudslinging, political-hit jobs and character attacks that do nothing but sow divisiveness among residents. But there is always an exception:  The Swampscott School Committee contest between Colin Codner and Glenn Paster has been a model one. Both candidates have conducted themselves and treated each other with the utmost respect. This was on full display during the Swampscott candidates’ forum cosponsored by Swampscott Republicans and Democrats last week.
