dogs helping families and survivors of the parkland school shooting. you don t want to mess. it all of that and more is coming up. and the good sunday morning to you. i am katie fang. this morning, waiting to see if trump s legal team finally gets around to filing a motion calling for a special master to review the evidence that was seized from his mar-a-lago estate. trump s attorney said friday the neutral person is needed to help, quote, vindicate the fourth amendment rights of the president. this comes as and bc learned that trump is also considering releasing the surveillance footage of the fbi search. so far, though, none of that has happened. meanwhile, the doj has until thursday to propose redactions for the affidavit supporting the document seizure. for more on all of this, we turn to nbc news justice reporter ryan reilly. ryan, good to see you this morning. thanks for being here. give us the latest of what is going on. there is a call for the special master. and i
the fbi stopped him, he said, and seized his phone. we were stopped to go through a hardee s in mankato where i was born in mankato, minnesota and cars pulled up in front of us, to the side of us and behind us and i said, uh, they are either bad guys or the fbi. well, they turned south. they were the fbi. there you have it. he s talking about what he went through and gives you a little bit of a clue into how law enforcement works. they know where he is, they choose a place where they think they can make the best possible contact and they take what they need to that they ve had lawfully approved. he s a conspiracy theorist and had a front row seat in the trump white house. he says the feds there as you heard took the phone. this comes after they seized the phones of other trump aides including one who admitted to the fraudulent elector plot. seven have had their phones seeded. this is an interesting addition because it is mostly political leaders or lawyers who have what y
evidence that he was even asked, the trump was even asked, to give his documents back. he was cooperating with him on this issue for months now. so i take it to the extreme extent? i think that s why you re seeing so much backlash from republicans, and seeing everyone coalesce. it doesn t matter what side of the issue they are on with trump. i have seen a lot coalesce around this. because it does seem unjust. this all comes as the new nbc eufaula today says a 57% of americans believe the investigations into trump should continue. at this breaking news this hour, republican senator lindsey graham s granulators to money on election interference. that is now in question. a federal appeals court, today, in fact just a short while ago, temporarily blocked testifying in georgia. setting the case now back to the district court ought to determine if that subpoena should be partially quashed or modified. no reaction today from the january six committee, days after mike pence says th
