The Andhra Pradesh government decided to extend the curfew till May 31 as the coronavirus graph continued to be on a steep upward spiral in the state. The state government took the decision on Monday, following a review meeting that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy held with ministers and senior officials.
At Monday s review meet, the chief minister opined that while the partial curfew is in effect for ten days, tangible results can be expected only if it is imposed for four weeks.

New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: India added 3,62,727 new coronavirus infections in a day taking the COVID-19 tally of cases to 2,37,03,665, while the death toll rose to 2,58,317 with 4,120 daily fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday. The active cases have increased to 37,10,525 comprising 15.65 per cent of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 83.26 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed. The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 1,97,34,823 while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data stated.

New Delhi | Jagran News Desk: The single-day rise in new coronavirus infections in India fell to 3.29 lakh after 14 days taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 2,29,92,517. A total of 3,29,942 infections were reported in a span of 24 hours, while the death toll climbed to 2,49,992 with 3,876 fresh fatalities. After registering a steady rise for two months, the active cases have reduced to 37,15,221 comprising 16.16 per cent of the total infections.
