Payette County Sheriff Andy Creech will be among the various speakers who will lead a discussion on the Second Amendment and sanctuary city status at the 2021 Washington County Republican Central Committeeâs Lincoln Day banquet on Friday at 6 p.m.
âI will be speaking alongside Washington County Sheriff Matt Thomas and Adams County Sheriff Ryan Zollman (as a panel) at this event,â wrote Creech in an email Monday. âAttorney General Lawrence Wasden will speak about this issue first and kick off the discussion that will follow.â
Creech added that the event provides for residents of southwestern Idaho to have their voices heard by those who aim to serve them.

As federal unemployment assistance continues to keep some workers from coming back to work after COVID-19 sent them home, employers and the agencies which help to fill positions at some of their facilities are hoping efforts to wean them off of such assistance will help them out.
For example, in Idaho, Gov. Brad Little has reinstated job search requirements to continue receiving unemployments, which had previously been suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On May 11, he announced the end of Idahoâs participation in all federal pandemic unemployment assistance programs as of June 19, stating, âWe do not want people on unemployment. We want people working. A strong economy cannot exist without workers returning to a job.â
PAYETTE COUNTY â A woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing her 66-year-old husband, Donald Gonzalez, in Payette on Wednesday.
According to new information from Payette County Sheriff Andy Creech on Wednesday afternoon, Sharon Gonzalez, 63, was taken into custody and faces a charge of aggravated battery, which is a felony in Idaho.
The stabbing is said to have occurred at the couple s home.
The Sheriff s Office is continuing its investigation.
Police initially responded to a phone call reporting aggravated battery at 10 a.m. Wednesday, after the victim arrived at St. Luke s in Fruitland to be treated.
