The 2022-2023 El Dorado News-Times Scholar-Athletes of the Year were announced this week. El Dorado’s Julia Jackson was the Female Scholar-Athlete with El Dorado’s Kieran Obiozo named the Male Scholar-Athlete winner.
“My mom’s a nurse. My grandmother was a nurse. I have two cousins that are nurses. So, it was a calling kind of thing, like it was sort of in your blood,” explained Mallory Whitten of her career plans.
The five finalists for El Dorado News-Times Female Scholar Athlete of the Year boast abilities to overcome adversity as well as championship DNA. The finalists include Addrienna Gray, Julia Jackson, Caroline Meadows, Daisy Tabe and Mallory Whitten.
