The 2022-2023 El Dorado News-Times Scholar-Athletes of the Year were announced this week. El Dorado’s Julia Jackson was the Female Scholar-Athlete with El Dorado’s Kieran Obiozo named the Male Scholar-Athlete winner.
The Massachusetts Institute of Technology states its purpose: to make a better world through education, research and innovation. El Dorado valedictorian Kieran Obiozo should fit right in at the renowned MIT, located in Cambridge, Mass.
Approximately 300 El Dorado High School seniors were awarded diplomas Monday evening in a graduation ceremony that packed Memorial Stadium. Graduates and their families heard from Valedictorian Kieran Obiozo and Salutatorian John Stipp-Bethune before watching the Class of 2023 officially mark the end of their high school careers.
The finalists for El Dorado News-Times Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year include state champions, team captains, valedictorians and multi-sport standouts. Jon Brooks Elia, Brody Goodwin, Wenhua Huang, Kieran Obiozo and Payton Willeford also have a combined GPA over a 4.0.
