The 2022-2023 El Dorado News-Times Scholar-Athletes of the Year were announced this week. El Dorado’s Julia Jackson was the Female Scholar-Athlete with El Dorado’s Kieran Obiozo named the Male Scholar-Athlete winner.
The finalists for El Dorado News-Times Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year include state champions, team captains, valedictorians and multi-sport standouts. Jon Brooks Elia, Brody Goodwin, Wenhua Huang, Kieran Obiozo and Payton Willeford also have a combined GPA over a 4.0.
