his smile would light the room up. and everybody loved him. tonight, the family of a local soldier killed in afghanistan recounts what made him special. good evening i m jim vance. and i m doreen gentzler. august has been the deadliest month for u.s. troops in afghanistan since the war there began. 66 families have been notified that their loved ones died this month. 65 families are dealing with the grief that the greene family in virginia is feeling. this evening they sat down with jackie bensen. reporter: just hours earlier they were in delaware where the body of army specialist douglas greene was returned home to the united states. the family of the 23-year-old loudoun county man takes comfort and pride that two other soldiers were not on that plane. they are injured by alive because doug greene took care of those around him. i think that the fire fight that doug got stuck in on sunday the other fellow first came into play. my guess is that he was moving around and
