Unity. Peace. Forward. These are three simple, but powerful words. Together, they make up the mission statement for a new free outdoor art exhibit at the Kennedy Centerâs REACH Campus in Washington, D.C. on display now through Feb. 28.Â
The exhibit brings together work from 65 artists from 22 countries. Local artist Malcolm Corley is one of the artists featured in the exhibit. Corley is a 21-year old artist living with a developmental disorder on the autism spectrum and is mostly non-verbal.
Corleyâs piece âUntitled #1â was selected to be a part of the exhibition. Elements of Corleyâs piece are used to make the letter âTâ in the word âUnity.â The visual representation of the word âUnityâ is powerful because each letter stands as its own unique work of art, but together, each letter/artwork combines to create a colorful and cohesive flow and strong message. LucasArts Games is back, but with a brand new look and name under Lucasfilm Games. It may seem like a small thing to be excited about, but the implications of what this may bring are something to get excited about. It shows that Lucasfilm is ready to take things to the next level and capitalize off of the current success of Star Wars.
It also brings up some retro game possibilities. Considering the extensive history of titles that LucasArts originally brought into the gaming world, there are quite a few that deserve to be brought back to life with a modern revision. Star Wars video games have always been popular, but not many people have played some of the classics that have built the foundation for modern Star Wars titles.
