Seminoles Preparing For NCAA Tournament

TALLAHASSEE The No. 17 Florida State men's tennis team is 19-8 and enters NCAA regionals fresh off an ACC Semifinals appearance last Saturday in Cary, N.C.   The NCAA selection show will be streamed live on NCAA.com on Monday, May 1st, with the men's tennis team selections beginning at 6:30 p.m. Singles and doubles selections for NCAA championships will be released on Tuesday. The last three rounds of the NCAA tournament will be played in Orlando, Fla at USTA National Campus.  

No 18 Florida State Completes Comeback, Defeats No 44 Miami 4-3

TALLAHASSEE – The No. 18 Florida State men’s tennis team defeated No. 44 Miami 4-3 on Wednesday evening at Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center. “Tonight, we really had to dig deep, Miami came out and played really well and won the doubles point, and continued the momentum in singles and won a got bunch of quick first sets,” head coach Dwayne Hultquist said. “We had to fight back, which shows our capacity as a team to never be out. The crowd is a big advantage for us, and they stayed the full time. TALLAHASSEE – The 17th-ranked Florida State men’s tennis team hosts its last three regular-season home matches this week beginning on Wednesday when it hosts Miami and continuing with a Friday doubleheader against Boston College and UNC Wilmington. The Seminoles are 14-5 on the season and 6-2 in conference play. Florida State is led by junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 6 singles player in the nation. Cornut-Chauvinc enters this week’s match with a 12-3 record with eight of those wins coming against ranked opponents. Joshua Dous-Karpenschif is one of three Seminoles with at least 10 wins this spring, posting a 12-2 record on the season, including a 6-0 record at No. 4 and a 3-0 record at No. 5. Youcef Rihane, ranked 109th nationally, is 12-4 and has beaten three nationally ranked players so far this year. Rihane is undefeated with a 5-0 record at No. 4 this season. The Seminoles play No. 43 Notre Dame on Sunday at 12:30 p.m. Florida State is led by junior Antoine Cornut-Chauvinc, who is the No. 4 singles player in the nation. Cornut-Chauvinc enters this weekend’s matches with a 9-2 record with five of those wins coming against ranked opponents. Cornut-Chauvinc has won three weekly honors after winning ACC’s co-Player of the Week on January 31, his third weekly honor after earning Player of the Week and Doubles Pair of the Week on January 17. Sophomores Maks Silagy and Joshua Dous-Karpenschif earned Florida State its fourth weekly award this season after earning ACC Doubles Pair of the Week on February 28.
