French car manufacturer Citroen is set to begin its India innings with the C5 Aircross. The premium midsize SUV will rival the Hyundai Tucson, Jeep Compass, and Skoda Karoq. It’s being assembled at the carmaker’s Thiruvallur plant and will initially be retailed via the La Maison Citroën showrooms across India. The French SUV will be offered in a couple of fully loaded variants. Here are all the details:

The production of Citroën C5 Aircross has commenced in India, folks. Yep, the first unit of the upcoming SUV was recently rolled off the assembly line at the CK Birla manufacturing facility in Thiruvallur, Tamil Nadu. But that is not the only interesting piece of news the company has to share the French automaker also hinted at the new C5 Aircross SUV s India launch date. Okay, fine it did not say for exactly when the event has been scheduled, but did say that the Citroën C5 Aircross SUV will likely become available for retail across the country in March 2021.
Citroën has started commercial production in India, rolling out the first Citroën C5 Aircross SUV from its plant in Thiruvallur, near Chennai. The flagship SUV is the first product for Indian customers from the Citroën brand and is slated to be launched this quarter. Production of the new SUV in India started after testing of the vehicle for over 250,000 kilometres in different terrains and varied weather conditions, said the French car maker. Emmanuel Delay, Executive Vice President, Stellantis & Chairman, PCA Automobile India Pvt Ltd & PSA AVTEC Powertrain Pvt Ltd., said Citroën C5 Aircross SUV will be the first of many differentiating products for India from the brand.
