New Delhi: The catastrophic second Covid-19 wave ravaging the country, with people scrambling for hospital beds and medical supplies, has had Congress leader Rahul Gandhi earn plaudits for his âforesight and visionâ from members of the G-23 or group of party leaders, who had last year questioned the âleadership vacuumâ in the party.
ThePrint spoke to multiple leaders of the group, who said that the crisis has âshown Rahul Gandhiâs leadership skillsâ, signalling a slight shift in the internal party dynamics.
Kapil Sibal, former Union minister and one of the most vocal members of the G-23, said âRahul Gandhi said all the sensible thingsâ with respect to Covid.

In a latest development in the TRP case, Minister of State for Home, G Kishan Reddy in Lok Sabha said that the Centre has no information about the leak of sensitive information in the purported WhatsApp conversations of Republic TV Editor-in-Chief Arnab in the case.
The chats that leaked included several controversial conversations between Goswami and Dasgupta, regarding various news events (and Republicâs coverage of them), including the Pulwama attack and the Balakot air strike in February 2019.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said on December 19 that he was “willing to work as the party desires” in response to the clamour for his return as party chief during the meeting attended by leaders including the dissenting letter-writers.
The meeting held at party chief Sonia Gandhi’s 10 Janpath residence lasted nearly five hours and was attended by leaders including Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, party general secretary Ajay Maken, Congress general secretary in-charge of Punjab, Harish Rawat apart from many from the letter-writing group.
